The Importance of Vacations for Stress Relief, Productivity & Health

Vacations (not just “time off”) are important for more than just fun...

Tired of dragging yourself out of bed in the morning? Are you losing your enthusiasm for your job?  Do you have some vacation time banked, but can not find the time to fit it in?  Then, guess what? YOU need a vacation!  Between budgets and busy schedules, it's not easy to set aside time to plan a get-away. That’s when using an agent is especially helpful.  Most of CruiseOne’s services are at no cost to you!  Using our knowledge & training will take the pain out of planning.  Taking a vacation WILL do wonders for your overall well-being, physically and mentally.  Bottom line … you really cannot afford to not travel.
REDUCING YOUR STRESS, HOWEVER YOU ACCOMPLISH IT, IS HEALTHY!

Make sure to choose the right travel companions.
Travel with someone that will add pleasure to your vacation, not cause stress. Remember, this is about getting away from stress.  Pick someone with like interests so that there is no conflict about the activities that you want to see & do.  Or make a deal to do separate activities then enjoy some time together to recap your day.
Pick the right type of vacation for you (that’s where your agent can help).
For some, the whole package is the escape with the travel time (flights, drive, etc.) to get to your destination being just part of the experience.  But for others, the travel time is a hassle, so you might need to choose something more local or with less travel time.  Taking a cruise vacation from local ports offers you LOTS of convenient destinations and options to choose from.

For some a lot of excursions are great fun and add to the excitement, for other excursions are stressful and they just want to veg-out by the pool.  Don’t feel pressured to do everything that your friends / family are doing, this is your trip to enjoy too.  But do plan some time together, rejuvenating relationships is part of the benefit of travel.

Avoid the “same ol’ thing” on vacation. A change in activities and a break from the norm can be as therapeutic as rest.  For example:   If you take a walk everyday as part of your normal health routine, choose to kayak, swim or bike while on vacation.  There are plenty of travel excursions that can get your heart pumping, try a different one everyday.  Or, if the spa is what you’re into, try something “Spatacular!”  Ahhhh.

Awaken the taste buds. Try different foods! Add color and variety to your diet.  This is particularly easy to do at an all-inclusive resort or on a cruise where you’re not paying for each entry. Go ahead … give it a try!

Prepare for an attitude adjustment — a good thing! When you have a trip to look forward to, it makes your normal daily grind more tolerable. It’s a mood enhancer for sure!  While on your trip, the change in scenery will boost your mood.
